~ What's New ~
2010 will be a pretty busy year here at Derby Vizslas. There will be some young dogs beginning to compete, and
possibly a litter of puppies in the months ahead. Be sure to check back often to see what we're up to!!
The first quarter of this year was pretty quiet with a few notable exceptions. Cooper hits the show ring and is Reserve Winner's Dog at the CVVC
Specialty at the Garden Specialty Shows. Thanks to Kristin for doing such a wonderful job handling and training this boy.
Not to be outdone,
Dillon takes WD/BW at his first shows, a 3 point major for this very handsome puppy. What a way to start??!!

Proving she's not just a pretty face,
Zoey gets in the action at the Kentuckiana Pointing Breed Association Field Trial. Handled by her owner she placed
in both the puppy and derby stakes their first time in any field competiton. WOW!! Way to go Ron and Zoey!!!

At the Louisville Cluster of Dog Shows Zoey is Reserve WB two of the four days handled beautifully by Lauren, THANK YOU!!
So what happened in 2009?
Spring starts off with a bang!! Zoey makes her debut at a Hunt Test and qualifies twice in very hot conditions!!  Go Zoey!!!

But wait, she's not done....Zoey and Lauren are making their presence felt in the show ring. At the Perry, GA shows on Saturday Zoey is Reserve WB and
Best Puppy and a Puppy Group 4. On Sunday at the Metro Atlanta Vizsla Club Specialty Zoey is awarded Winner's Bitch for a five point major and also
gets a Judge's Award of Merit, beautifully presented by Lauren!!! WOW! You go girls!!!

Cooper is on the board too. At the Perry, GA shows, Cooper gets FIVE BIG ONES by going Winner's Dog and Best of Winners under Judge Lester Mapes.
This lovely youngster is just 8 months old. Thank you Kristin for showing him so beautifully!!!

Deuce shows that he hasn't forgotten a thing, getting Best Veteran Dog in Sweeps. Too much fun for both of us.

In June at the Miami Valley Vizsla Club Specialty,
Dillon was BEST IN PUPPY SWEEPS!! Zoey won a very competitive 12-18 month class both days and
Lauren was BEST JUNIOR HANDLER, she and Deuce really rocked the ring with their performance!!! Congrats to all!!!!!
The summer was hot here in Kentucky so we played in the water when we could and took some much deserved time off. At the Lexington Kennel Club
dog shows Zoey and Dillon garnered a couple of points each and I was fortunate enough to escort the lovely BISS GrCH Tivoliz Pursuit of Justice JH,
aka "McCoy" to three Best of Breed wins, his Grand Championship and a Sporting Group 4!! Thank you to McCoy's owners Alycia and Kevin Walty for
bringing McCoy to the shows and thanks too to his breeder, Debbie Stern, Tivoliz Vizslas, for putting this plan together and of course for breeding
such a lovely dog.
We ventured north to the "Christmas Cluster" of shows in Cleveland, OH. Lauren showed Zoey to her second MAJOR win, going Winner's Bitch on
Sunday at the Vizsla Club of Greater Cleveland Supported Entry under Judge Beth Speich. They looked terrific and Zoey now needs only 4 single
points for her Championship title.

We also have Hunting Titles to report. Zoey gained the last leg needed for her Junior Hunter title handled by her owner, Ron. I handled Dillon to
three qualifying legs toward his Junior Hunter title. These youngsters are amazing in the field.

October found us heading to Wisconsin for the Vizsla Club of America National Specialty. It was a wonderful trip and a successful one as well.
Lauren showed Zoey to a second place in her 15-18 month bitch class. She also showed Deuce in the 8-10 year Veteran dog class and won FIRST
place!!! Check out Deuce's page for the photo. I placed third with Dillon in both his sweeps class as well as his 15-18 month dog class. Lauren
showed Deuce in Junior Showmanship and they looked awesome. I was so proud to be able to show Deuce in his Veteran Dog class and placed
fourth. It was great to see so many friends and to see such a lovely group of dogs in one place!!
